Somerset Adventure 2

Our next stop on our adventure was in Stoystown for the Trostletown Bridge. As I was driving I heard Bekah yell “A PLANE!!” and with being so close to the Flight 93 crash site it kinda gives you chills. Here, she saw a helicopter and an Army tank at the local Lions Club. We enjoyed this surprise and of course took a ton of photos with them.

As I was standing underneath this, the thought crossed my mind…what if this would fall. That is a sure sign of old age lol!
Then she found an outhouse. It was boarded up inside but the door wasn’t locked, which made for a happy Bekah.
The bridge was one of the worst we stopped at. The lions club stored wagons inside under tarps so it wasn’t very appealing to the eye.
At least we managed for the bridge to take our photo. =)
The new Flight 93 Memorial up next!

Somerset Adventure

It is time for another Best Friend Adventure Day! This time we explored Somerset County. Our first stop was the Somerset Historical Center. We were excited to see the 1830s Farmstead because we thought we were only getting to visit a covered bridge.

Here is Bekah at the Walter’s Mills Covered Bridge from 1859.  We have a thing for covered bridges, check out last years adventure Here.
I had to be different and stand on the bench…
then jump off. Don’t hold the out of focus image against Bekah, she is a writer not a photographer. :)
The Adam Miller farmstead, circa 1830s with the farm kitchen to the right.
Our second stop was at the nearby Queecreek mine rescue site.
Here is the rescue shaft where the 9 miners emerged from the dark, cold mine 240 feet below after 77 hours of frigid darkness in July of 2002.
Bekah on the 2nd rescue shaft.
Check back soon for our next historical stop.

Big Mac’s

Okay, I know I’m a dork. No need to remind me after this post :)

Recently my Mom and I stopped at the Irwin McDonalds where there is a Big Mac Museum. The Big Mac was created in Uniontown (where I’m from) so its not that dorky to be interested ;) Who doesn’t love a table with photos on it?

Thought this wall of downtown Uniontown is pretty cool except for the horrible choppy collage…
I forgot to mention that there is a giant Big Mac inside lol!
My Tote & Shoot Christmas present goes EVERYWHERE with me now! Its the best camera bag ever and it holds my favorite beverage…McDonald’s Diet Coke! No longer do I look like a freak having my camera everywhere with me.

Amanda & Jeremiah | Historic Summit Inn Engagement Photographer

On Monday I met up with Amanda and Jeremiah at the Historic Summit Inn.

Its amazing how quickly our weather can change….less then a week ago we were out in the snow freezing.
Isn’t she gorgeous?!
Adorable Lexi joined us in the snow.

Uniontown Bridal Show 2012

The 39th Annual Uniontown Bridal Associations Bridal Show was held last Saturday at the Hopwood Social Hall.  It was nice to meet so many new brides and see some of my previous brides helping their friends and family plan their special day.

DJ Paul McGrady was the host for the fashion show with the dresses supplied by Pat’s Bridal Boutique and the tux’s from Cantalamessa Formals.

You may remember Ben from his wedding to Brittany this past year, Check it out HERE. I love this shot because even tho he is hand and hand with another model, his eyes are fixed on his bride in the front row.
If you are loving all the different color lighting seen in these images be sure to check out Paul McGrady to create the reception lighting of your dreams.
Paul then got some ladies up on the stage to do the Cupid Shuffle during an intermission. Always a fun time!
For more information on all the the vendors from the show please visit: http://uniontownbridalassoc.com/default.html
