We made one last stop for a couple more photos of the two of them before heading to the reception at the Hopwood Social Hall. If you know me, I never know when to stop shooting! :)Love this wall and love the fact that it matched their wedding colors! Her ring is gorgeous! Had some fun with the lights…These two were doing laps around the dance crowd…it was the cutest! First dance came after a little fun dancing.So happy and in love :)Thanks so much guys for letting us document your special day! Hope Mexico was amazing!

Jennifer & Bobby were married last weekend at St. Paul’s Church in Uniontown. I first met up with the girls. A couple of Jennifer’s bridesmaids are responsible for the gorgeous flowers.Isn’t she Beautiful?!I love these shots…they are always full of happiness. Last week I met up with an awesome couple at Station Square. I was excited to travel to the big city, and I only made one wrong turn getting there! haha! We ended up with a beautiful day, only a tad chilly. Jess, you are gorgeous! I loved her shoes…Can’t wait till the wedding this summer!

Somerset Adventure 4

This is the last Somerset post …I promise!

After we visited the memorial we stopped at Glessner Bridge in Shanksville. This bridge from 1881 is still in working order.

Bekah decided to fire off a bunch of frames of me running down the hill. I guess I deserve it for how much I have paparazzied her over the life of our friendship. This one was just too funny not to share.Our final stop (before dinner of course) was at the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel. This image is posted just to remind a certain best friend of mine that she still needs to share her images with me :PThis 3,000 pound remnant of the World Trade Center reads UA 93 and was donated by the New Jersey Port Authority in honor of the dedication of the Flight 93 Crew Monument on the Chapel grounds.This has to be my new FAVORITE image I have ever taken in Shanksville!And lastly a faded ribbon, but never forgotten.

I have to admit I was very disappointed with the new Flight 93 Memorial. The temporary memorial had so much personality, love, color and heart. This one looks like it belongs in Washington D.C. as another concrete memorial. We heard other visitors speaking the same…”if you have never been to the old memorial you would think this one is great…but its not.” What puzzled and angered me the most was that the national park service doesn’t even acknowledge what the old site looked like. They could of added a picture with some text stating what the temporary memorial looked like for nearly 10 years, along side the others telling the story of what happened that day.

Here you can see the crash site…the rock in the center represents the spot.

“Let’s Roll”It was Palm Sunday when we visited…You can see the signs behind us that I was referring to earlier.

Our next stop on our adventure was in Stoystown for the Trostletown Bridge. As I was driving I heard Bekah yell “A PLANE!!” and with being so close to the Flight 93 crash site it kinda gives you chills. Here, she saw a helicopter and an Army tank at the local Lions Club. We enjoyed this surprise and of course took a ton of photos with them.As I was standing underneath this, the thought crossed my mind…what if this would fall. That is a sure sign of old age lol!Then she found an outhouse. It was boarded up inside but the door wasn’t locked, which made for a happy Bekah. The bridge was one of the worst we stopped at. The lions club stored wagons inside under tarps so it wasn’t very appealing to the eye. At least we managed for the bridge to take our photo. =)The new Flight 93 Memorial up next!

Somerset Adventure

It is time for another Best Friend Adventure Day! This time we explored Somerset County. Our first stop was the Somerset Historical Center. We were excited to see the 1830s Farmstead because we thought we were only getting to visit a covered bridge. Here is Bekah at the Walter’s Mills Covered Bridge from 1859. We have a thing for covered bridges, check out last years adventure Here.I had to be different and stand on the bench…then jump off. Don’t hold the out of focus image against Bekah, she is a writer not a photographer. :)The Adam Miller farmstead, circa 1830s with the farm kitchen to the right. Our second stop was at the nearby Queecreek mine rescue site.Here is the rescue shaft where the 9 miners emerged from the dark, cold mine 240 feet below after 77 hours of frigid darkness in July of 2002.Bekah on the 2nd rescue shaft.Check back soon for our next historical stop.
